THE HEAT IS ON | Thermographic Invitation Printing | Solways Printers Quality printing London
14 March 2014
Thermographic printing is a fantastic printing technique that can be used on business cards, invitations, and other quality printed materials to create impact, emotion and remembrance. Thermographic printing creates an embossed type which gives an elegant look and feel. Some printers use this process to make the printed typography or image elements have a 3D effect. In essence we have been printing 3D for years…… 🙂
Take a look at our in-house thermographic machine printing a quality thick boarded invitation:
Tim’s Top tips
A major issue with thermographic printing is that it is a heat applied process. When heat is applied to paper the moisture content is changed which leads to a possibility of curl. Thicker board invitations will not only add a sense of luxury but also help minimise the risk of curl.
We love to experiment here at Solways Printers.
This week our goal was to create a THICK high quality thermographed invitation on 540gsm whilst minimising curl to the paper. We are using Colorplan pristine white 540gsm (plain) ….loving it!
