DIGITAL EMBOSSING – What is it and how does it help my printed products?

Spot UV and Thermography have been in use for many years. Both these print processes raise the image from the sheet and add a shine to the surface. TACTILE PRINT STANDS OUT. That said these are both NOT suitable for combining with digital printing. There are two main reasons for this – SPOT UV has high machine set-up costs and so the low volume digital projects become uneconomic. Secondly thermography uses a heat process to create the embossing, effectively baking the ink. This does not suit the digital sheet.
